What's On In The Area
Local events of interest throughout our community
Dementia Awareness
Many of the people we support live with dementia, so a big part of our community commitment is focussed on improving local life for those with dementia.
Our day-to-day work reflects our expertise in this area. We:
Signpost families to local services and support lines
Provide suggestions for adaptations and aids that can assist dementia clients
Run regular dementia-friendly events
We are proud to have a long-standing relationship with our charity partner, Alzheimer’s Support. We run regular fundraisers to support the charity and promote their work.
All our team receive dementia awareness as part of their training, and several of our staff are accredited to deliver dementia awareness talks. We regularly deliver sessions to community groups and ask only for a nominal donation to Alzheimer’s Support. If you would like to book a talk, please contact Sally.
Supporting Local Causes
We’re proud to support the communities of Marlborough, Pewsey and the surrounding villages. Alongside providing care, we donate time, resources and small grants to local charities, clubs and community groups - from memory cafés, carer-support groups and lunch clubs to village fetes, youth teams, arts groups and Good Neighbour schemes. Support can be financial or in-kind (raffle prizes, printing help, volunteering, sharing events on our channels).
Could we support you?
As part of our commitment to the community, we put aside a small fund that we award to charitable projects in our local area (Marlborough, Pewsey and surrounding villages).
Our priority is to support projects that:
Improve community inclusivity
Reduce social isolation for older/ vulnerable adults
Support carers
The funds we donate to these projects can be used for event costs, equipment/ materials or raffle/ auction prizes to support with fundraising.
How to apply:
Send us an email with the details of your project: group name, contact info, event/date, what you need, budget and outline the impact your project will have
Tell us how we’ll be recognised (for example including our logo on posters, shout-out at the event, programme mention etc).
Give at least 4 weeks’ notice if possible.
Email to Sally or call 01672 514339 and we’ll guide you. We review requests regularly and aim to respond within 10 working days. (Please note that we can’t support political or for-profit requests.)
